Our client was rear-ended with significant force on I-15 Southbound at the I-10 interchange in Ontario, California. Property damage photos confirm a high-impact collision consistent with the serious injuries sustained.

Our client quickly sought medical treatment, reporting neck pain, headaches, and radiating low back pain with numbness and tingling. She underwent extensive conservative and diagnostic care including urgent care evaluations, chiropractic treatment, physical therapy, orthopedic consultations, and advanced imaging.

Diagnostic studies revealed multi-level cervical and lumbar disc protrusions with central canal and foraminal narrowing, loss of cervical lordosis consistent with muscle spasm, lumbar radiculopathy, and spondylolisthesis. Despite ongoing treatment, her symptoms persisted and progressed, including chronic neck and low back pain, bilateral upper and lower extremity radiculopathy, weakness, numbness, and functional limitations impacting daily activities.

Our client was ultimately referred for interventional and surgical care, including cervical facet injections, epidural steroid injections, and recommendations for L4-L5 fusion surgery. She underwent a bilateral L4-L5 selective nerve root block under fluoroscopic guidance.

To date, our client has incurred $85,798.19 in medical expenses, with additional future medical care anticipated. Her injuries are causally related to the collision, and she continues to suffer from ongoing pain, neurological symptoms, and reduced quality of life as a direct result of the defendant’s negligence.

The at-fault driver carried third-party liability limits of $25,000, which were tendered and accepted early in the claim. Given the severity of our client’s injuries, the extensive medical treatment, and clear damages far exceeding the available liability coverage, a claim was pursued under our client’s Underinsured Motorist (UIM) policy with limits of $225,000. After months of contested negotiations, including the submission and review of prior medical records and comprehensive documentation supporting causation, damages, and future care needs, the carrier ultimately tendered the full UIM policy limits of $225,000.

As a result, our client obtained a total recovery of $250,000, reflecting the full combined policy limits available and appropriately compensating her for the significant and ongoing harm caused by this collision. She was extremely happy with the results.
