Multi-car Complicated Accident – $120,000
This case of the month resulted in an excellent outcome for our client, especially given the circumstances. Her medical expenses totaled $17,506.80, and her vehicle sustained only moderate damage. This case involved two at-fault parties and multiple injured individuals. One of the other injured parties, represented by another attorney, had severe injuries. That attorney also represented two additional clients, for a total of three individuals. Our client’s injuries stemmed from an incident involving two responsible vehicles, which complicated the claims process.
We faced a limits issue with the first party’s insurance policy, which was a $500,000 policy that was globally tendered. From that policy, our client received $50,000 through a pro-rata split. Next, we collaborated with the other attorney to pursue compensation from a second policy with limits of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident. By leveraging the severity of the other attorney’s seriously injured client, we successfully extended the policy to secure additional compensation for our client. From this policy, she received $70,000.
In total, our client’s settlement amounted to $120,000. This is an excellent result given the moderate nature of her injuries and treatment.
